Tensions raised in Kannada film industry a couple of days back when it was reported that actor Yash’s life is under threat. Apparently, a gangster gang which was arrested by police stated that they were given a lump sum of the amount by a man called Bharat to assassinate Yash.

Denying all these as rumors, Yash held a press meet the other day to address his fans and well-wishers. He said, ” I spoke to Additional Commissioner of Pollice, Alok Kumar and Home Minister MB Patil about the issue. They assured me personally that I was not on the hit list.”

” It is worrying to see every time a gangster gets arrested, my name comes out in the hit list. I have been getting so many calls since morning. I would like to tell my all fans and well-wishers the I am doing well and nothing will happen to me,” he added. Yash is now gearing up to shoot for the much-anticipated film, KGF Chapter 2.

Hosting a TV debate turned out to be a nightmare for a noted Malayalam anchor on Asianet News TV.Going into details, a popular anchor Sindhu Sooryakumar received over 2,000 abusive calls on her mobile allegedly from activists and sympathizers of various pro-Hindutva groups, accusing her of calling Durga a sex worker during the show, which was a discussion on whether celebrating Mahishashura Jayanthi could be considered an act of treason.

Sindhu’s phone number was circulated on certain WhatsApp groups following which angry speech of criticism of verbal abuse began against her. During the media interaction, Sindu said, “I have been getting a call every minute. The main allegation is that I abused Durga, calling her a sex worker. Most of the abusers called me a prostitute and abused me. Some threatened me while others didn’t even know what the charge was. I got a call this morning from someone asking whether I was Durga. Another person called me sometime ago, saying I had posted something against Durga on Facebook, and that he wanted to abuse me for that.”

Five people have been arrested so far regarding the case, following a complaint by Sindu. All of those arrested belong to the various pro-Hindutva groups including Sri Ram Sena.
