After the record-breaking hit Attharintiki Daaredi, he came up with only two films – Gopala Gopala and Sardaar Gabbar Singh and both have tanked at the box office. While Gopala Gopala turned out to be average grosser, the other is a disaster.

Hence Pawan Kalyan’s fans are praying for a massive hit. Will Pawan Kalyan deliver the much-needed blockbuster with Katamrayudu? The buzz around the film is humungous, but fans are keeping low expectations on the movie as the director Dolly has not given a huge hit in many years.

On the other hand, producer Sharath Marar did special pooja for the movie’s success at Kadiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Ananthapur. Kadiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy is also known as Katamarayudu.

​Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s forthcoming film is all set to go on floors from August. According to the latest reports, the regular shooting of the movie will commence from August 6th in Hyderabad.

The film will be directed by Kishore Pardashani aka Dolly of ‘Gopala Gopala’ and ‘Tadakha’. Shruti Hassan will star opposite Pawan Kalyan. Powerstar will be seen in as a faction leader, who doesn’t like to get married. But circumstances lead him to fall in love with a girl, who bears the similar name of his childhood crush.

The film is written by Akula Siva and Bhoopathy Raja. Anup Rubens is the music composer. Sharat Marar is producing the film on North Star Entertainment banner.​

Post Sardaar Gabbar Singh release, Powerstar Pawan Kalyan has given active interviews to all the TV channels, and the common thing he revealed to everyone is that he is going to act in two more films in the direction of SJ Surya and Trivikram Srinivas before he quits the movies.

Meanwhile, there are several reports being circulated in the media that a top production house will bankroll these projects. But we have learnt from our reliable sources that Pawan Kalyan himself produce the film in association with his friend Sharat Marar. His film with SJ Surya will be launched by this month ending, and Sharat will act as producer.

The music director Anup Rubens already started the composition for the film. Pawan Kalyan realized the failure of Sardaar Gabbar Singh, and he wanted to give another chance for Sharat Marar to make profits on his next film. Pawan has done similar things in the past too. Sardaar Gabbar Singh collected Rs 31.3 crores worldwide on Day 1, and it crossed US $1 million mark by the weekend in the USA. But slowly the film encountered heavy drops in the collections in almost all the areas it released. Power director KS Ravindra aka Bobby directed the film.
