From the past few years, the Telugu films are doing extremely well at the National Awards and that tradition repeated this year as well. Many Telugu films like Mahantai, Awe, Rangasthalam and Chi La Sow bagged awards in some major categories. There is also a Telugu guy who won a national award but for a Marathi film.

He is popular cinematographer Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti who handled the camera work for Marathi blockbuster Sairat. Interestingly, Sudhakar bagged the Indira Gandhi Best Debut Director National Award for his maiden directorial film Naal. 

Naal follows the journey of an eight-year-old boy who explores for motherly love. The movie is beautifully shot and is accompanied by heartwarming performances of all the actors. Sudhakar is currently working as the DOP for Telugu film George Reddy which is slated for the release in a couple of months.

Sridevi is in Hyderabad to promote her upcoming movie ‘MOM’ which is releasing on July 7th, 2017.

In an interview, The Evergreen Beauty was asked if there is truth in the reports of her elder daughter Jhanvi Kapoor turning down the offer to act opposite Mahesh Babu. Quickly, Sridevi clarified: ‘These reports are baseless. I admire Mahesh Babu’s acting and watches ever movie acted by him. I will be thrilled if Jhanvi gets an opportunity to act with Mahesh’.

May be, Mahesh Babu & Jhanvi might share screen space sometime in future. Sridevi has already reacted positively to this proposal and hence Tollywood Filmmakers will start considering the newbie for their projects.

Jhanvi Kapoor is making her Bollywood debut with ‘Sairat’ Hindi remake. Karan Johar has signed a 3-film deal with this Star Kid already. So, She may not be making a foray into Telugu Cinema anytime soon.

Rinku Rajguru, who has gained nationwide fame for her portrayal of Archi, the female lead in blockbuster “Sairat” failed to make it to the school on the first day of the new academic year. Her classmates, who had planned a grand welcome, were sorely disappointed.

Rinku, who has become a household name in Maharashtra after the great success of the movie, is actually a student of the tenth standard, and now she has gone back to her school to continue her studies at a school in Akluj area of Sholapur. Rinku has been away from Akluj since the film released to a rousing reception, attending promotional and celebration events and appearing on popular TV shows. When she was in Akluj on June 12 for a felicitation event, her fans who gathered in thousands at the venue, made it impossible for her to get out of the vehicle.

“Sairat” is Marathi romance film starring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar. It is directed by Nagraj Manjule. The film was released in India on 29 April 2016, and it has become the highest grossing film in Marathi cinema history, and the film has become the first Marathi film to gross over ₹100 crore (US$15 million) worldwide.
