Director Indrajit Lankesh is helming the biopic of South adult film star Shakeela. Richa Chadha is roped in to play the role of Shakeela who was popular in the 1990s.

As per the latest reports, Shakeela herself is going to play a cameo in the movie. Lankesh stated that she has always wanted to make a movie on Shakeela as he was immensely impressed with her on screen and off screen personality. “I wanted to showcase her story, the hardships she faced when she was not getting films and was trying for character roles. I want to show the true story behind the superstar Shakeela.” Said Lankesh. Richa also spent some time with her to observe her style of talking, her body language etc. “When she came on set, she gave us some interesting insights about our art direction and how her house was and is in real life,” added Lankesh.

Lankesh shot with her in the past for another film in 2003 and that was when he got the interest to make a film on her. He claimed that every woman and girl who wants to be an actress should see her story, and understand she went through.

Richa Chadha has already started the shooting for the biopic of B-grade actress Shakeela. Her first look from the film is already out and Richa who donned a white and gold saree in it looked stunning.

Richa is leaving no stone unturned in preparing for the film. Now, she is working on her belly dancing skills for a special promotional song in the film. Richa Chadha is getting trained under the guidance of Mumbai-based belly dancing instructor Shaina Lebana. She has been practicing belly dancing from the past three weeks and will be under training for a few more weeks. “The song will be a part of the promotions of the film. I love to learn newer forms of dance. Belly dancing is not only very attractive and graceful but is also a very tough dance form to learn and adapt,” said Richa.

The movie is being directed by Indrajit Lankesk. Richa already has some experience in belly dancing as she used to take belly dance tutorials three years ago.

Hot, bold and talented actress Richa Chadda has been in news ever since she first visited Cannes Film Festival as one of the actors of award winning film ‘Masaan’.

At that time, Richa was linked to French actor Franck Gastambide. The photos in which the duo was seen together went viral on social media bringing much popularity to Richa. However, Richa feels that she doesn’t like the popularity that comes through the activities of her personal life, but she always wanted to be noted for her films, awards, and red carpet appearances.

Richa added that she was not happy with those rumors but feels proud for being selected as one of the jury members of soon to be started Makkarech International Film Festival. She feels highly respected for being part of the panel headed by legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola.

Richa Chadda recently fainted on the sets while rehearsing for a dance show. Going in to details, Richa collapsed due to low blood pressure. Besides practising for the event, She has also been shooting for two of her upcoming movies. As a result, she felt weak and fainted at the rehearsal venue.

She was immediately rushed to a hospital, where the doctor told her that her strict diet and stressful schedule were the reasons for her low blood pressure. Richa was kept under observation for almost three hours and was discharged with a long list of dos and don’ts.

A source close to Richa said that, “She has been on a strict diet to keep herself in shape for her roles. She has literally been juggling all these projects. Since she had made a commitment to the dance event a while back, she did not want to back out at the last moment. So, she was rehearsing for her performance whenever she found the time for it, especially late at night, after wrapping up her films’ shoots.”

Richa Chadda Detained at Delhi Airport!

That’s right! Richa Chadda was recently stopped and interrogated at the airport in New Delhi on her way back to Mumbai as the security and airport officials found something suspicious in her luggage.

However, it turned out that the object they found questionable was nothing but a ayurvedic skincare product.

A source close to the actress said, “Richa Chadda believes in the power of Ayurveda and she has been following the traditional method of beauty and skincare for over the last six months. Considering that it has helped her greatly, she follows the Ayurveda ritual daily, and that means the powder is carried even when she is travelling.”

“She was questioned for over an hour before being let go,” added the source.

When contacted by a prominent media house about this, Richa said, “I am a big believer in Ayurveda and was recently carrying my Ayurvedic supplements to Mumbai. However, the security found the powders suspicious. I didn’t want them to confiscate my Ayurvedic things because they are tough to procure… and are made for me personally by the ved. I had to literally convince them for two hours that it’s nothing wrong or suspicious at all. I know they are doing their job and hence I was more than willing to co-operate. Thankfully I didn’t miss my flight.”

Richa Chadda was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Goliyon Ki Raas Leela”. She is mostly know for her roles in “Oye! Lucky Lucky Oye!” and “Gangs Of Wasseypur”.
