Nandamuri Kalyan Ram has recently scored a decent hit at the box office with ‘118’. Now, the actor who has signed a bunch of exciting projects will be seen in a movie under the direction of a debutante Mallidi Vasishta.

The shooting of the movie is most likely to go on sets in a few weeks. Kalyan Ram is bankrolling this project himself under NTR Arts banner and an interesting update about the movie is currently doing rounds on the internet. As per the latest reports, the movie is going to be a socio-fantasy drama and the makers have finalized ‘Ashwathama’ as the title of the film. The title of the movie is definitely creating a positive impression on the movie. As a portion of the story will be set in Tughlaq dynasty era, the makers have initially planned to keep ‘Tughlaq’ as the title of the film but have later moved on to ‘Ahswathama’.

Rumors are rife that a star heroine will be romancing Kalyan Ram in this movie. Topmost technicians in Tollywood are on board for this project. More updates about the movie will be released soon.

Actor Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is testing his luck this Friday with his latest film 118. Directed by noted cinematographer KV Guhan, 118 is a thriller drama which has Shalini Pandey and Nivetha Thomas as female leads. The pre-release event of the film was held last night in Hyderabad.

Speaking at the event, Kalyan Ram said, “I always try to come up with something new for the audience but somehow failed in many of the attempts. But those failures won’t stop me from experimenting with new subjects. Like Tarak said at Temper’s audio launch, I will try till I win your hearts.”

Kalyan needs this film to be a hit as his last ventures Naa Nuvve and MLA turned out to be failures. The music of the film is composed by Shekhar Chandra. It is produced by Mahesh S Koneru under East Coast Media.

This morning Kalyan Ram attended as chief guest to the Traffic awareness drive conducted by Hyderabad Traffic Police as a part of 30th Road Safety Week, in Saroor Nagar Indoor stadium. Story

He accidentally leaves a novel about love and the photograph of him in the book brings her luck and she believes him to be her lucky charm and falls for him. She explains everything to him when they meet and he put a test for her in the name of destiny. If she wins the test, they will be together and if she fails, they will part their ways. Cast and performance

Nandamuri Kalyan Ram as Varun is good. He tried his best to get into the skin of the character. This movie might be a new makeover for him. Tamannah Bhatia is fine. She played the role of Meera well. Vennela Kishore, Priyadarshi Pulikonda & Bithiri Sathi evoked few laughs with their presence. Tanikella Bharani is fine. Praveen is good. Posani Krishna Murali and LB Sriram are okay. All other actors are fine.

Story of Naa Nuvve is a simple love story woven around the concept of destiny.
Screenplay is bad which has no feel and which also moves in a snail pace.

Songs composed by Sharreth are good to hear which are very well supported by finely written lyrics. Background score is also good to ears. Cinematography by PC Sreeram is nice. Naa Nuvve is a story of a guy who doesn’t believe in the concept of destiny and a girl who connects everything with destiny. They both meet and fall for each other. Director Jayendra has done a very okayish work with this movie. Right from the script itself he failed to convey what he thought at an idea level and finally made a shallow film. Biggest reason for this film not to work is that it doesn’t have any emotional connect with the audience. Without this emotional connect everything that happened in the movie seems artificial and on top of that heavy background score mocks it. It might be a biggest surprise for audience and fans on how Kalyan Ram has accepted a movie which has no feel and a movie which faltered in every way. “When a movie is bad, we should not give the best music to decorate it because it looks ugly on it” quoted by MM Keeravani and it rightly applies to this movie. As Nandamuri Kalyan Ram tried to come out of the routine, soulless writing and bad direction lets him down.

Nandamuri Kalyan Ram who is excited about the release of his new film Naa Nuvve has also updated about his next film in the direction of K V Guhan. Kalyan Ram updated that his film with K V Guhan has completed 50%. He also said that his next film is going to be in the direction of Pavan Saadhineni who earlier made the film’s like Prema Ishq Kadhal and Savitri.

Kalyan Ram has clarified that his father Hari Krishna is not going to be a part of the project but added that there will be another hero sharing the screen space with him. Story

Kalyan (Kalyan Ram Nandamuri) shifts to Bangalore along with his Sister (Lasya) and her husband (Vennela Kishore) and joins for a job. He comes across Indu (Kajal Aggarwal) while roaming in Bangalore and falls for her. He follows her but she is against it. She comes as daughter of chairman for the company which Kalyan works and they get along well due to a land dispute which is occupied by Marthalli (Ajay) and finally they succeed in getting the land back. She convince Kalyan to not to pin hopes high on her. Then a gang comes and tries to nab her and Kalyan rescues and comes to know the background of Indu. Who is Indu? What is her story and how Kalyan and Indu marry is the remaining story.

Cast and Performance

Nandamuri Kalyan Ram as Kalyan has done a fantastic job. He is looking at his best in this movie and he even mesmerized with his performance. Kajal Aggarwal is good. Posani Krishna Murali and Vennela Kishore is humorous. Ravi Kishan is nice as baddie but he became monotonous. Ajay is nice. Jayaprakash Reddy is good. Nagineedu is fine. Lasya is good in a small role. Prudhvi who is in his best phase is superbly entertaining and Prabhas Seenu has done his part well. All other actors did fine job in their given roles.

Writing Department

Story of this MLA is routine but screenplay is written well which is engaging. Dialogues are good and lyrics are well written by Ramajogaiah Sastry and Kasarla Syam.

Technical Departments

Songs composed by Mani Sharma are good. He did his best in scoring the background score.

Cinematography by Prasad Murella is nice.

MLA aka Manchi Lakshanalunna Abbai is a movie which starts off as a love story and which later transforms into social aspects like the importance of education. Director and writer Upendra Madhav has done fine job in handling this movie. He made a passable first half with entertaining elements and he shifted into main content in the second half and he wrote this part well which is engaging thoroughly but seems routine. Even though movie is routine and does not have any innovative elements, this movie doesn’t bore you. Kalyan Ram Nandamuri looks handsome in his new hairstyle and trimmed look. After and entertaining second half movie seems rushed in the climax. Entire second half runs behind the motive of hero to become MLA but it becomes a motive to change people and to make them free of their problems created by the baddie. This movie will work well with the masses and may become a passable flick in multiplex zones. To sum up, MLA is a routine commercial entertainer which entertains well.
