King Nagarjuna is one of the rare heroes who age backward. While all of his contemporaries are doing either supporting roles or serious roles, Nag is still acting in the romantic characters. Even his upcoming film is titled as Manmadhudu 2, which literally translates as cupid.

Nag has also achieved a rare record now. He is the only hero, who acted with the heroines of his past generation and the heroines of the next generation. In the 1980s, he romanced the actress Sridevi, who acted with his father Akkineni Nageshwar Rao in many films.

Now, in his next film Manmadhudu 2, he will be romancing Rakul Preet Singh, who acted as a heroine alongside his son Naga Chaitanya in Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam. Nag is the only hero who has this rare record to his crown. The first schedule of Manmadhudu 2 is wrapped up the other day and the team will head off to Portugal very soon to shoot the next schedule.

Akkineni Nagarjuna has achieved a rare feat among senior heroes with his two back to back blockbusters ‘Manam’ and ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’.

‘Manam’ collected a share of over Rs37crorein its full run and became Nag’s biggest blockbuster. Now, his latest blockbuster ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ has thumped all other Sankranthi films to become the winner of the festival season. With record breaking collection, the family entertainer has successfully crossed the 30 crore share mark.

Interestingly the film was released in just 450 odd screens. With two back to back Rs 30 crore share films, Nagarjuna is quite happy. ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ was directed by newcomer Kalyan Krishna and produced by Nagarjuna under Annapurna Studios banner. Ramya Krishna and Lavanya Tripathi played the leading ladies while Anasuya and Hamsa Nandini sizzled in cameos.
