It is already known that director Nag Ashwin, popular for directing Yevade Subramanyam, is helming the biopic on legendary actor Savitri, and that it’s titled Mahanati.

Keerthy Suresh will play the popular veteran actor while her story will be narrated through the eyes of Samantha Ruth Prabhu. It is learnt that Ashwin and the team are wrapped up the pre-production work and is all set to commence regular shooting. As per the latest reports, the film will go on sets from May 10th.

To be produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, the film will be simultaneously made in Telugu and Tamil. It could also be dubbed in Malayalam.

There were several rumours in the film industry regarding which heroine is going to play the on-screen Savitri character in Savitri biopic. The film is going to be directed by young filmmaker Nag Ashwin who made his successful debut with the film Yevade Subrahmanyam. The film is going to be produced by Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt. Savitri is a versatile Telugu actress who has grabbed the title Mahanati. The film is now titled as Mahanati. Finally, the director revealed that the budding actress Keerthy Suresh is going to play Savitri in the film.

While there were rumours that Samantha is a part of the film, the director confirmed that Samantha is also a part of the film but playing another crucial role. The regular shoot of the film will begin soon.
