Senior Telugu actor Kota Srinivasa Rao is known not only for his versatile characters but also for his frank talk on issues that plague film industry.

For a long time, the senior actor has been raising his voice against giving importance to actors of other languages over Telugu actors. In one of his recent interviews, Kota took a dig at the makers of ‘Janatha Garage’ stating that he hasn’t yet heard anyone praising the lead actor (NTR) of the film.

‘Everyone is praising Mohanlal’s performance. If you rope in such a talented actor, how much a Telugu actor should perform to get noticed in comparison? Makers are only thinking of their films but not about the Telugu actors. It’s good to have compassion for all the languages but not at the cost of our own language,’ added Kota.

There is a strong perception is media circles that versatile actor Kota Srinivasa Rao drinks a lot, and he often comes to film shoots in a drunken state.

In a recent interview, Kota admitted about his drinking habits and said that he used to take part in shoots in a drunken state. Kota confessed that he attended shooting for as many as 20 films while he was drunk but the senior actor said that he used to take director’s permission.

Kota added that his drinking habits were true, but the media has magnified it a lot and spread wrong rumors of him being drunk most of the times. It may be noted that the veteran actor was conferred with Padma Shri award.
