Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s latest offering Katamarayudu is having a lot of trouble in the overseas markets. The premiere collections for the movie reached up to $460k which is quite less than Powerstar’s previous flick Sardaar Gabbar Singh.

The movie garnered $870 in terms of collections till Saturday and is likely to enter the $1 Million club going by the reasonable Sunday collections.

However, the aspect of worry comes in for the USA distributors and exhibitors as the overseas rights of Katamarayudu were sold out for Rs 11.5 crore.

In order to achieve the target, the movie should generate at least USD 2 million in it’s run. But the poor reviews have affected the box office revenue, and the trade circles predict that Katamarayudu might not survive after the first weekend.​

Despite being a remake of Tamil flick Veeram, this movie got a huge craze only because of the star power of Pawan Kalyan. With intriguing teaser and trailer, the movie got hype which touched the parallel Galaxy. With the advance bookings, the collections are estimated to collect an overall gross of 55 crores worldwide. But at the end of the first day, the movie managed to get a gross of 42 crores worldwide. The share of India has touched 27 crores including all states. Thus it’s clear that the film didn’t break Khaidi’s opening day record but still got very good numbers. For some reasons, the overseas collections are not releasing time to time.

The Saturday and Sunday performance shows an overall impact on this film’s full run. However, the movie should collect 100 crores to enter break even. Apart from Pawan’s craze, Dolly direction and Prasad’s camera are main highlights of the movie.
