Jayam Ravi has made a mark for himself in action and romantic roles but Bhooloham is an out and out action spectacle, inspired the life of Asian boxer Madhan.
The movie, which is being directed by Kalyanakrishnan, is now slated for release on July 18. The audio of the movie was released a few months back though it didn’t cause much of a ripple in the Kollywod music scene.
Srikanth Deva is the man who scored the tunes for this one, and this is his second time working in a Jayam Ravi movie, the first one also being a martial arts movie of sorts – M Kumaran s/o Mahalakshmi. Interestingly, that was Asin’s debut in Tamil.
Talking about heroines, Bhooloham had a rough stretch in that area.
The team first approached Amala Paul for the role but when she declined they moved on to Nayantara. It was only upon her not being able to find the days in her schedule that the movie makers settled on Trisha Krishnan.
Trisha plays the lead female character named Gowri Sindhu. Bhoologham, by the way, is the last name of Ravi’s character – Vivek.
Ravi did go that extra mile to play the boxer, by undergoing special training in the sport under the watchful eye of professional athlete Prasad.
Apart from this, to add that zing to the flick’s action content, Kalyanakrishnan managed to rope in Nathan Jones, the Australian actor and former wrestler/strongman to do a fight scene.
Nathan is internationally remembered for his small scene in Troy, but more notably to you martial arts aficionados out there – he played a fighter in the Jet Li flick Fearless and the Tony Jaa film Tom Yung Goong.
Now, the giant of a man is making his entry in Kollywood!
The rest of the cast includes Prakashraj, Narayan, Ponvannan and Shanmugarajan. The movie is being produced by Aascar Films.
