Taking the box office output into account, NT Jr’s latest release ‘Janatha Garage’, which collected a share of about Rs 82 crore is the biggest blockbuster of this year.

The NTR starrer has beaten Allu Arjun’s another biggest hit ‘Sarrainodu’ which collected a worldwide share of Rs 76 crore. Fans continue to debate over the authenticity of these collections though

However, when we take the number of 50 days centers into account, Sarrainodu has a clear cut upper hand over Janatha Garage. While Sarrainodu finished the 50 days run in 115 centers, JG could reach the milestone in 39 centers. Fans of Allu Arjun are taking this factor into account and are claiming that their film is a bigger blockbuster than JG.

Both these films have done remarkable business at the box office despite unfavorable reviews. So, both these films are true blockbusters of 2016.

When NTR Jr’s latest film ‘Janatha Garage’ was released and received below average reviews on the very first day, no one would have believed that the movie would still go on to become the 3rd All Time blockbuster in the history of Telugu cinema.

With over Rs 75 Cr worldwide share, ‘Janatha Garage’ has now overtaken Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Attharintiki Daredi’ to emerge the 3rd biggest hit. Baahubali and Srimanthudu are the only films ahead of JG. For now, JG has amassed over Rs 125 Cr gross at the worldwide box office in just 15 days. It is the second fastest Telugu film to do so. Distributors of all the areas except Nellore have already landed in the profit zone.

With new releases like ‘Siddartha’ and ‘Nirmala Convent’ getting washed out, JG is still continuing its dream at the box office. With another good week and inordinate luck, JG can even surpass Srimanthudu to become the 2nd in the list.

It seems that the poor reviews have not hampered the box office prospects of NTR’s latest release ‘Janatha Garage’.

By raking in Rs 21 cr share in the two Telugu states on its opening day, JG became the second biggest opener after Baahubali. It created another record by becoming the 2nd fastest film to reach the Rs 50 Cr worldwide share mark. While Baahubali took just two days, JG took four days for this feat. Decent collections were reported on Monday as well.

Janatha Garage also collected $1.5 million in the US. This is the 4th overall and 3rd successive film of NTR to breach the million dollar mark in the US after Temper and Nannaku Prematho. NTR also became the only South hero to have two back to back films which scored $1.5 million in the US.

The film Janatha Garage is performing great thing at the box office now. The film unit is happy with the way the film was made and the appreciations from everyone matters the most. Young Tiger Jr NTR, Samantha and Nithya Menen played the lead roles of the film. Koratala Siva is the director of the film. Mythri Movie Makers is the production house which made the film. Meanwhile, the film is going strong on the third day. The collections on the first two days have been impressive. As of now, the film collected 25.76 cr so in both Andhra Pradesh & Telangana regions.

NTR’s ‘Janatha Garage’, which is having its worldwide release on September 1st, is expected to compete with the records set by Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’.

Coming to the US premiers, Baahubali is comfortably sitting at the top with $1.3 million just from the premiers. Pawan’s ‘Sardaar’ occupied the second place with $615K. With a huge number of premiers being planned, Janatha Garage has high chances of breaking the record of Sardaar to occupy the 2nd place. From early reports, Janatha Garage had collected around $200k even before the premiers started. The film just needs positive talk to shatter records.

The competition extends to the Telugu states too. Pawan’s ‘Sardaar’ has set an unprecedented record of Rs 21 Cr share (just behind Baahubali) on its first day in the two Telugu states. Janatha Garage is expected to better this or at least equal it.
