Director Sudha Kongara stormed into stardom with just one film Saala Khadoos that was remade as ‘Guru’ with Victory Venkatesh in Telugu. Undoubtedly, Sudha is definitely much sought after director among the young generation of film makers. After the success of Guru, the director remained tight-lipped about her next project and seemingly was enjoying the success and acclaim that she received.

However, rumour mills suggest that the director has approached actor Suriya Sivakumar for a project that she has in mind. Reportedly, she has narrated the script, and he is said to have given his nod.

Since Suriya is now hands full with his upcoming two projects, we might only see the two of them collaborating later in the year.

It is known that senior hero Venkatesh is currently acting in a boxing drama titled ‘Guru.’ The film is the official remake of Madhavan’s Tamil film, in which the actor played a boxing coach. Ritika Singh, who played the female lead in the original, is reprising her character in the Telugu remake.

Latest reports suggest that Ritika is playing a hardcore Pawan Kalyan fan in ‘Guru.’ In the Tamil version, she essayed a Dhanush fan. Given the impact that the name of Pawan Kalyan can create in cinema halls, makers of Guru seem to have decided to take advantage. Interestingly, Pawan Kalyan’s mammoth ‘Gabbar Singh’ cut out was also used for a sequence in the film. This one scene itself is expected to lure the fans of Pawan to the theater.

The film’s shooting is fast progressing. Makers might release the film in February 2017.
