Forbes Celebrity 100 list for the year 2016 has been officially released by the magazine, and the list has come as a rude shock to Telugu movie lovers.

In the Top 100, one can find only the names of Bollywood celebs, cricketers, singers and other sportspersons. Although Tollywood is the second largest film industry in the nation and the films of our star heroes are adored even in North, the Forbes magazine has given only 4 Telugu actors a place for in the list.

Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, NTR and Ram Charan secured places in the top 100. Many wonder what happened to Pawan Kalyan and Prabhas?

According to Forbes, it gives the ranks based on Annual Earnings, Fame, Google Ranking, Magazine cover pages & several other factors.

Alongside earnings, fame plays a key role in deciding the ranks. Aren’t Pawan Kalyan (huge celeb on film and political front) and Prabhas (Baahubali star) famed enough to be listed in the Top 100?

According to an annual list published by Forbes magazine, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and ‘Khiladi’ Akshay Kumar are among the world’s highest paid celebrities of 2016.

With earnings of USD 33 million and with USD 31.5 million respectively, Shah Rukh and Akshay ranked 86th and 94th on the list. Forbes said SRK continues to rule Bollywood with films, business endeavors and endorsement deals.

Forbes added that Akshay is one of Bollywood’s busiest leading stars who banked on three successive hit films in 2016. The action star also earns huge by endorsing a wider range of brands. He, however, slipped in ranks in 2016 from 76th in 2015.

The list has been topped by American pop singer Taylor Swift with an earning of USD 170 million.English-Irish boy band “One Direction” claimed the second rank with earnings of USD 110 million. Author James Patterson came on the 3rd spot followed by Portugal footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.
