Yesterday, it was announced that megastar Chiranjeevi’s 150th film, the remake of Tamil blockbuster “Kathi,” will be launched on 29th April.

We have reported long back that Pawan Kalyan’s new movie, to be directed by Tamil director S J Surya, will be formally launched on 29th April. The two mega brothers are launching their projects on the same date.

The two mega movies are being lunched on the same date because as per the Telugu calendar, 29th April is the last auspicious day of this season.Hence, instead of delaying their films waiting for next auspicious day, Pawan and Chiru have decided to launch their films on 29th April only.

The regular shooting of both the films will start in June and interestingly both the films will be ready for release for coming Sankranthi festival. Will they lock horns or one brother gives way to the other?

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s comeback film, the remake of Tamil Kathi, which has already been delayed for a long time, has found itself in a fresh controversy as the veteran director Dasari Narayana Rao headed Writer’s Association has passed a resolution to stop the production.

Dasari’s resolution came in the wake of the ongoing tussle between senior Telugu film writer N Narasimha Rao and the makers of Kathi. Ever since Murugdoss released the film’s Tamil version, Narasimha Rao has been claiming that the story was by penned him and he registered it in the Cine Writer’s Association.

Although a forum was established to sort out the issue, it is yet to be resolved. Hence, Dasari passed a resolution that the film remake should go on floors only after resolving this issue. Dasari also stated that the Directors’ Association and Cine Workers Federation will be staging non-cooperation against the film’s production until the issue is resolved.

Star director VV Vinayak, who is set to direct megastar Chiranjeevi’s comeback film, has revealed that story sittings will happen in February, and a final decision will be out by March end.

Vinayak, who came to Amalapuram yesterday, spoke to media and revealed this news when questioned. He didn’t divulge any other details about the film like cast and crew.
