Touted to be a vigilante drama, Kamal Haasan starrer ‘Bharateeyudu’ movie became a blockbuster back in 1996. After 22 years, director Shankar is going to do a sequel for the film.

The expectations are sky high in the film. Kamal Hassan is reprising his Senapathy role again in this movie. Shankar has already unveiled the first look poster of the film which went viral on the internet. Lyca productions banner is pooling resources for this film. Kajal Agarwal is playing the female lead. Anirudh Ravichander is scoring tunes for the film.

Director Shankar was on a break recently to celebrate his 25 years into the film industry. As per the sources, he is now getting back to the work and the new schedule of the movie is expected to begin soon. More details on the same will be out soon.

After scoring a huge blockbuster with sci-fi thriller 2.0, director Shankar is getting ready to start his next film Indian 2/Bharateeyudu 2. Starring Kamal Haasan as the lead, this is the sequel for the 1995 super hit of the same name. The shoot of this film started today.

The makers have released the first look of the film a couple of days back which received a huge response from the audience. Yesterday evening, they released yet another poster with the tag line ‘older, wiser, deadlier.’

Produced by Subhaskaran under Lyca productions, Indian 2 will feature Kajal as the female lead. Whether the film starts off where the first part is ended or it showcases an entirely different story is still a mystery as of now.

The film is slated to release by the end of this year.
