Sensational filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has been trying to create a special buzz on the film Bhairava Geetha from the beginning of the movie. The film got postponed multiple times but RGV tried his best to intensify the buzz on the movie. The film is said to have a backdrop of Rayalaseema and it is an out and out action-oriented film with intense emotions. The movie was made in Kannada as well and it released in Karnataka last week. It is the time for the film’s release in Telugu now. Siddhartha Thatholu made his directional debut with the film that has Irra and Dhanunjay in the leads. Story:
Bhairava (Dhanunjaya) lives in a small village in Rayalaseema. He was born into a low-caste family and works for a high-caste person Subba Reddy. Having born into a low caste family, he faces a lot of struggles in life. One day, when the rivals attack Subba Reddy and his family, Bhairava saves Subba Reddy’s daughter Geetha (Irra). With this incident, Geetha develops feelings for Bhairava and falls for her. When Subba Reddy comes to know about his daughter’s love with Bhairava, he straightaway rejects it and develops a rivalry with Bhairava. What happens then? How did Dhanunjay win his love back? How did Bhairava unite with Geetha? Forms the story of the movie.
Performances:
Most of the actors in the movie are new to the audiences and not many have put effort to impress the audiences. Dhanunjay and Irra are too good in the movie. Both of them have impressed with their performances and helped the film appear bearable for the audiences. While Dhanunjay is too good with the action and emotional sequences, Irra Mor did a good job in attracting the viewers with her glamour and looks. The actor who played Subba Reddy also gave his best. Except these three, everyone is else is good in their characters and have made their presence felt.
Writing Department:
In terms of the writing, the director has prepared an outdated story which we have seen in a lot of movies in the past. There is nothing new about the story and the screenplay. The dialogues are loud at times and are out of sync in certain sequences.
Technical Aspects:
Jagadeesh Cheekati’s camera work is the only plus point in the film. His photography is appealing visually. The beauty of Rayalaseema was showcased nicely. The music failed to impress and the background score is loud all the time. Instead of elevating the movie properly, the BGM has played the spoilsport. The picturization of the songs is also unimpressive. The artwork is okay. The editing is good. The production values are not up to the mark.
Verdict:
The film lacks a proper story. At every point, the audiences will get bored of watching the movie. The complete plot is revealed in the initial voice-over itself and because of the same, the things get predictable. The film is very raw and overboard in terms of the violent sequences. The audiences will not feel either for the romantic scenes or for the action scenes. The screenplay lacks freshness too and the director steers the movie without any proper direction. The fact is that the film is much better in terms of making from all the movies that came from RGV and his assistants in the recent past. The new director Siddharth proved his talent but because of an outdated plot and weak execution, the movie disappoints.
