The posters, teasers and trailers give an impression are evident that Baaghi 2 is ahigh-octane action film. It is an official remake of a Telugu film, Kshanam which released in 2016. Baaghi 2 stars the real life hero -heroine Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani, which adds more curiosity for the film. The sequel is directed by Ahmed Khan who has earlier made awful films like Lakeer and Fool & Final. However, the project is backed by the lavish producer Sajid Nadiadwala, who makes sure there’s no stone left unturned in the production values and promotions. Well, Baaghi did rake in good bucks despite being stupid. Will Baaghi 2 do the same? Well not sure about the money but the other part for sure.

Ranveer Pratap Singh (nickname: Ronnie) played by Tiger Shroff is a rambo’s doppelganger in Indian armed forces. He’s a terror for the terrorists. The macho-ism is unmatchable. He gets a call from his ex whom who couldn’t marry, played by Disha. She reaches out to him for help that her daughter got kidnapped right in front of her eyes, and she needs help. The heart-broken hero still arrives to be the savior. He starts trying to trace the kidnapper but at one point, it suddenly looks like an unexpected puzzle put in front of him. It gets to a point where is the lady lying about a non-existent daughter getting kidnapped. The rest of the movie is about the puzzle getting solved.

The original film, it has been remade from (Kshanam in Telugu), is in contrast a slick thriller with hardly any heroism. The mere reason the original film became popular is because of the simplicity and staying honest to the genre. The moments were edge-of-the-seat, and Baaghi2 gives you plenty of moments to leave the seat while our hero gets indulged in detailed action sequences which are forcibly inserted in the core plot. There is a flashback sequences in the film where they show Tiger and Disha’s college romance which might appeal to the teenage fans of this celebrity couple. The movie proudly changed its genre from thriller to an high octane action and reducing the thrilling factor to miniscule quantity. It reduced itself to a masculine-muscle-macho show by corrupting a beautiful script.

On performances side, there are some good actors to give us a relief. Deepak Dobriyal entertains and so does Randeep Hooda as a maverick cop. Manoj Bajpayee entry does attract some hoots. There’s one annoying performance from the supporting actors though and that’s Prateik Babbar, who’s high on cocaine in the character but overdoes it.

However, the lead pair are disastrous. Tiger should take a break for a half decade and go to some acting classes and come back. Disha Patani gives a worse performance, and a free advice for her would be to stick to the Instagram stories and not venture into the stories on the silver screen.

All in all, Baaghi 2 is body with no brains.

Sajid Nadiadwala’s Baaghi 2 starring Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani directed by Ahmed Khan will now release on 30th March 2018.

Ravi Chandran is one of the most renowned cinematographer in the film industry; the man has shot top Bollywood films as well as Tamil and Malyalam films.

We hear, now his son Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran is all geared up for his first Bollywood film, Sajid Nadiadwala’s Baaghi 2 that started rolling recently in Pune.

While kick starting the film director Ahmed Khan was keen to have Santhana on board and in no time Sajid Nadiadwala gave his thumbs up to the young lad.

Sajid has always been fond of Ravi’s work as they have previously collaborated on Anjaana Anjaanni.

Santhana has shot Tamil film Dhruvanachitram starring Vikram and Malyalam movie Two Countries and now is making his Bollywood debut as a DOP with this Tiger – Disha starter.

Talking about his experience Santhana says, “I feel extremely happy to make my Bollywood debut with Baaghi 2. I am very grateful to Sajid Sir and Ahmed sir for giving me the opportunity and believing in me.
