It is known that Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has paired up with Shah Rukh Khan in his upcoming film ‘Raees’. But, the surprising part is that she was not the first choice for the film.

Former Femina Miss India (2011) Ankita Shorey was first considered to play the love interest of SRK before Mahira Khan was finalized.

“I went through the look test for the role, and I waited for six months for the confirmation of the role. However, there was a last-minute change. I felt a little bad when I got to know it, but I believe that everything happens for a reason. The only regret is that I missed out a chance to work with Shah Rukh Khan,” the model-turned-actress told media.

Set in 80s Gujarat, Raees narrates the story of a bootlegger. Directed by Rahul Dholakia, Raees is scheduled to hit screens on January 26, 2017.
