The Kerala High Court today rejected the bail petition filed by actor Dileep, who is in jail in the case of attack and abduction bid on a popular Malayalam actress. This is the second time the HC rejects his bail plea. Earlier, the Magistrate Court at Angamaly also denied him bail in connection with the case.

The prosecution, who opposed his bail plea, had submitted a sealed cover that contained evidences against the actor to the court. There are three witnesses to prove that Dileep had plotted a conspiracy and 213 evidences against him.

The HC observed that considering the possibilities that the accused might influence the witnesses, it rejects the bail application. The court did not consider Dileep’s contention that the case was a fabricated one to destroy his film career.

Dileep has spent almost 50 days in the Aluva Sub-Jail in connection with the case. He was arrested on July 10.

The actress was sexually abused and tried to abduct by the main accused, ‘Pulsar’ Suni and his accomplices in the night of February 17 this year in a running vehicle in Kochi. With the arrest of Dileep, it was revealed that the incident was part of a conspiracy.

He declared that he has submitted crucial proofs to CBI against hero Dileep for further investigation.

Already the hero Dileep is counting bars in prison for Kidnapping the Malayalam heroine Bhavana. He was accused of attempted murder and rape.

Prominent Malayalam actor Dileep was arrested on Monday in connection with the conspiracy behind the case pertaining to the abduction and sexual assault of a leading actress in February this year. Last week, police had questioned Dileep and film director Nadirsha for 13 hours in connection with the probe. Subsequently, police had raided business premises of his wife, Kavya Madhavan.

Police said they took Dileep into custody on Monday morning and his arrest was recorded in the evening. The conspiracy behind the attack was hatched several years back, and it was in the second attempt that the actress was attacked in the late night of February 19 in a moving car near Kochi.

The police had charge-sheeted the supari gang, which had attacked the actress, in April this year. Last month, police reopened the conspiracy behind the attack following the expose of a letter purportedly written by the gang leader Sunil Kumar alias Pulsar Suni to Dileep seeking financial aid. In the meantime, Dileep too had complained to police that he was being blackmailed by Sunil Kumar seeking money.

During the probe into the conspiracy, Dileep had maintained that he was not linked to the attack on the actress. The Association of Malayalam Movies Artists (AMMA) had rally behind the beleaguered actor, who is a leading actor in the film industry.
