Delhi babe Taapsee Pannu, who has upgraded from South to Bollywood with Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Baby,’, said that she needs to prove her acting prowess before becoming the quintessential heroine in Bollywood.
Taapsee added that she first wants to concentrate on performance-oriented characters rather than the clichéd cute and bubbly roles, which are anyway dominated by bigger stars than her.The 28-year-old actress is currently happy playing key roles in megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s “Pink”, Prakash Raj’s ‘Tadka’ and ‘Ghazi’, in which she is playing a Bangladeshi refugee. She feels that these diverse roles will prove her acting credentials.
Her journey in Bollywood is contrary to in Tollywood. In the south, she mostly has done glamor oriented roles and slowly started doing performance-oriented characters. But, in Bollywood, she is doing a variety of roles at the beginning, and she plans to move to glamorous roles later.
