Yester year well known actress Sujatha breathed her last today (April 6th, 2011) at her residence in Chennai. Sujatha aged 58 and she was suffering from illness for quite some time.
She was born on 10th December 1952 in Sri Lanka. She began her acting career in the year 1967 with the Tamil film ‘Tabasvini.Her first Telugu film was ‘Gorintaku’ and last Telugu flick was ‘Sri Ramadasu’.
She acted in Telugu,Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi language films.She almost acted with all the top actors in Tollywood and Kollywood. She acted with veteran actors like NTR, ANR, Krishna, Shoban Babu, Krishnam Raju, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.
She acted in more than 300 films in Telugu,Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi languages.Some of her best films in her career are , Gorintaku, Guppedu Manasu, Eedanthasthula Meda,Pandanti Jeevitham, Pasupu Paarani, Vamsa Gouravam, Sujatha, Bangaru Kanuka, Sandhya, Sutradharulu, Guru Shishyulu, Mayadari Krishnudu, Circus Ramudu, Asha Jyothi, Pranaya Geetham, Sirimalle Navvindi, Bebbuli, Anubhandham, Prema Tharangalu, Chanti, Pelli and many more.
Sujatha has acted in all the south Indian languages and was known for her elegant and at the same time strong portrayal of her roles.
Sujatha got the Nandi Award for her role in ‘Pelli’ film in 1997. She was also conferred ‘Kalaimamani’ award by Tamilnadu government.
