After writing about the current crop of Star kids,we felt there was need to write about those star kids who have been around in the industry fro quite some time now. While some went on to impress us with their talent,others just couldn’t make a mark for themselves in the industry.

Perhaps one of the most eligible bachelors of Bollywood and a superstar with great fan following, Salman Khan had grown leaps and bounds. Son of a noted writer Salim Khan, Salman made a debut with ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi‘ in a supporting role. The success came very slow to this young man who struggled to rise up the top. After ‘Maine Pyar Kiya‘, there was no looking back for this handsome hunk with loads of attitude and style.
The most celebrated star of veteran Dharmendra, Sunny Deol never had it easy at all. Being the son of Dharamji was more of a pressure rather than a boon. Delivering on screen with his own talent happened with films like Ghayal, Damini, Ghatak and Gadar. Sunny was often criticized for his funny dance moves and over the top loud voice while delivering dialogues. These, however soon became his brand and style. This Punjab Da Munda is still revered for his strong screen presence.
Known more as Sunny Deol’s brother and less as Dharmji’s son, Bobby Deol arrived on the scene in the mid-90s. His long hair style, tall height and different personality was found to be exotic for Bollywood audience. Bobby flaunted heavy female following with films like Barsaat, Gupt, Soldier and Ajnabee. His trademark jiving in the songs is still remembered.
Perhaps one of the top league actresses who made her way up purely with her exceptional acting skills, Kajol stands out to be one of the greatest actresses produced by Bollywood ever. Born to actress Tanuja and director Shomu Mukherjee, Kajol’s entry into films was highly speculated because of her dark skin tone. However, Kajol blew the roofs of the theaters with some mindblowing performances in films like Baazigar, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, walking away with 6 Filmfare Best Actress Awards and a Padma Shri.
Son of veteran actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis, Sanjay Dutt entered into Bollwyood with emotional baggage. The young man who went through drug abuse, charges of carrying arms and the prime accused in Mumbai Bomb Blasts never had it easy at all. However, Sanjay’s commendable performances in films earned him a lot of fame and recognition, sidelining the other charges on the personal front. Sanjay Dutt is currently serving time in Yerawada Prison, and is still looked upon by his fans for his own humble image.
Perhaps the one time wonder boy of Bollywood, Kumar Gaurav, son of veteran actor Rajendra Kumar is least known. His all time hit happens to be Love Story, which went on to become one of the greatest love stories made in Bollywood. He later appeared in supporting roles in many films.
She is the daughter of Dimple Kapadia and Rajesh Khanna, and she has talent. Twinkle Khanna made her debut with Bobby Deol in Barsaat, and delivered some good performances in films like Baadshah, Mela and Jodi No1. However, Twinkle sank into her personal life very soon after marrying Akshay Kumar, the heartthrob of Bollywood. She now does interior designing full time and has her own company, The White Window Store.
One of the top actresses of the 90s, Karisma Kapoor is the oldest daughter of yesteryear star Randhir Kapoor. She was criticized for her ‘funny’ face at the start, but Karisma aka LoLo underwent major transformation with her film Raja Hindustani, arriving with ultra-glamorous makeover and loads of talent.
Saif Ali Khan
Son of Nawab Pataudi and actress Sharmila Tagore, Saif Ali Khan had to struugle for decade to arrive at the scene. Though notices for his early performances in films like AashiqAwara, Saif’sre entry happened in the recent years with hits like Dil Chahta Hai, Ek Haseena Thi and Omkara.
Younger daughter of Randhir Kapoor and sister of Karisma, BeBo aka Kareena is one of the hottest Bollywood actresses of the present times. Her performances are well applauded on screen. Kareena is known for her Size Zero figure that shook the women of Nation. She is currently enjoying the domestic bliss after being married to Saif Ali Khan.
