SRK Awarded ‘Global Diversity Award’

Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan is indeed having a Happy New Year, as all things seem happy for him. Recently, SRK was awarded the Global Diversity Award at the State Room of Britain’s House of Commons in London on 4th October 2014.

Presented to him by the British Parliament by the 136th Leader of the office of Speaker Rt Hon John Bercow MP, who is the Chair of the Home Affairs committee. He even conducted the grand ceremony. Gracing the ceremonial were other members of the Parliament from both houses, Commons and Lords SRK received the award for his work in cinema ahead of his Slam+ The Tour concert at The O2 Arena.

Shah Rukh tweeted on his social networking handle, “Now at the Houses of Parliament to receive the Global Diversity Award….humbled & grateful. Thank you. Tnx Mr Speaker Rt Hon John Bercow & my friend Mr Keith Vaz for a wonderful ceremony for the Global Diversity Award.” Along with this there are some really cool pictures of King Khan which were posted too.

This is another feather in his cap. Shah Rukh has been honoured with several international awards, including Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur (France’s highest civilian award), Wissame Al Kafaa Al Fikria (Morocco’s highest honour), Malaysian title of ‘Datuk’ (akin to the British knighthood). Not only that, he has also been roped in as the Brand Ambassador of INTERPOL’s “Turn Back Crime” Campaign recently. SRK’s philanthropic side has always been on the forefront.

2014 has been a mega year for the Superstar. High hopes are pinned upon Happy New Year, which releases this Diwali.
