Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao(NTR) is a legendary actor in Telugu Cinema and in India as well. He has a huge following among masses, which became even more when he entered state level politics with kick starting TDP. He is an icon and often regarded as godly figure. When asked how lord Rama, Krishna looked like- NTR appears the hearts of Telugu people.
When Telugu film industry was based in Chennai major people related to film industry used to live there. Among them was also NTR. He used to live in Chennai’s T-Nagar in Bajulla road. He named his house as Nandamuri House also known as NTR estate. He resided there for about twenty years 1960-1980.
His house used to be busy place with Producers, Directors, Actors and many fans visiting the house. People who used to visit Tirupathi also used to visit this house to see NTR. Fans who come from distances were provided food and necessary facilities to stay. It was treated as Temple by many.
As the days passed NTR House was transformed into disaster state due to disregard. Neither his family nor the Party took up the responsibility to look after the NTR House in Chennai. Demands have cropped by that the family shall sell the property and share the money or to renovate it and make a museum with showcasing NTR awards and replicas. The TDP party can consider the house as Party house in Chennai.
