The evergreen Mollywood beauty Shwetha Menon, who is no stranger to spotlight or controversy, has officially cancelled her contract for the film ‘Kelvi’.
She was reportedly to play the lead female character, that of a scriptwriter, in the movie.
To be directed by Hashim Marikkar, the movie was going to be a suspense thriller involving the events around the life of a scriptwriter, a director and a yesteryear actress. Manoj K. Jayan was rumoured to take on the male lead part.
‘Kelvi’ was also about to be made in to Tamil, in which Parthiban would play the male lead with Shwetha signed on for the female part in that as well. Now it seems, the role is up for grabs.
The actress claimed that her work on a current Kollywood project and a few shows left her with no time in her schedule to do the movie.
Supporting roles in the Mollywood version of the movie were to be done by Piaa Bajpai, Mumtaz, Aju Varghese, Praveen Prem and others.
Well kudos to Shwetha for managing her career so well that she is actually turning down projects. It is good to see her carry on well after her embarrassing ordeal of being practically molested on stage and on camera, no less, by an M.P. in Quilon, and handling with grace the sleazy political attempts to assassinate her character that followed.
