Shruti Hassan to join Kaththi team?

The actress has been offered a part in the Kaththi project, and she is considering it – but no, it is not an acting job… it is her voice they are after! Yes, the glamorous Shruti Hassan has been invited by the music composer of Kaththi, Anirudh Ravichander, to lend her vocals for a song.

Sources say though she hasn’t given her okay yet, chances are she will nod consent in the days to come, because of her close relationship with Anirudh. The sensational young composer and the darling diva have been good friends since the days of 3, and that might be an excellent reason for Shruti to sing in Kaththi inspite of her busy schedule due to her acting career.

The Kaththi soundtrack already has a song sung by Vijay – the famous ‘love kuthu’ song – and now Shruti too? Wonder where exactly Anirudh is going with this strategy or tactic. In any case, he is not in any danger of running short of talent, as many actors seem interested in crooning for movies these days.

Suriya, Vijay, Lakshmi Menon and others have set a pretty steady trend in that regard.

Meanwhile, Kaththi’s problems with the proposed ‘ban’ on the movie seem to be at an end… at least for now, now that Murugadoss and company visited and discussed matters with leading Sri Lankan Tamil activists.

This was in response to the allegation that Lyca Productions, the company funding the movie, is affiliated in ways to the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse.
The Kaththi team and Ayngaran International denied these rumours or allegations immediately and now a conclusion to this unexpected debacle appears to be in sight.

Kaththi stars Vijay in dual roles, Samantha in the female lead and Neil Nitin Mukesh as the baddie. The story is based on the central theme of journalism and has been reported to be an action thriller with an emphasis on a cerebral battle between the hero and the villain.

Directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Lyca Productions, the flick is aiming for a Diwali release and a full trailer is set to come out on August 15th.
