Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation on Thursday evening demolished an illegal construction at Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies VFX office in Goregaon, Mumbai. Apparently, an illegal construction at this Red Chillies office in Goregaon was carried out on the fourth floor of DLH Enclave building, and an open terrace area was converted into an office cafeteria.
An official statement from Shah Rukh Khan’s team confirmed the news and said that Red Chillies does not own the office area mentioned, and it was a rented space.
Red Chillies spokesperson said, “Red Chillies VFX is a tenant and not the owner of the property mentioned. The building has an open area outside with seating which employees use for eating food that they get from home. It is not an operational canteen. However, due to a misunderstanding, the part which the BMC demolished are the energy saving solar panels which provided clean energy to the entire VFX division. Red Chillies VFX is taking this up with the concerned authorities at the BMC.”
However, onlookers confirm that the demolition work was done peacefully and many locals surrounded the site. This is not the first time that Shah Rukh Khan has had to face a situation like this. In 2015, the BMC officials and police demolished a ramp near Shah Rukh Khan’s residence ‘Mannat’ at Bandra West which was allegedly an illegal construction too.
