Samantha is finally getting a chance to show off her acting chops and not just her sensational looks by playing dual roles in a movie – and that too opposite Chiyaan Vikram! Yes, we’re talking about the Vijay Milton directed flick which is already halfway through being filmed!
The movie which remains untitled, though there were reports in between that it was titled Idam Maari Irangiyavan, started shooting its first schedule at the end of May and now Samantha will join up for its second half soon.
The plot, which is largely travel based and is rumored to have certain finale scenes in Turkey, remains tightly under wraps – one assumes under explicit orders from the director and producers.
The film is being produced by A R Murgadoss in association with Fox Star Studios.
This is, by and large, extremely exciting tidings for the young starlet Samantha, who already has established herself as a contender in the top tier of female actors in the southern film industry. Not only does she get to be in another A R Murgadoss project, but she also gets to test her versatility against Vikram – who let’s face it, is one of the go to guys for playing dual roles or even triple ones in Kollywood (next to Kamal Hassan of course).
Another interesting addition in the mix is Pasupathy, who is playing a pivotal role in the film, or so we are told, but again – like the plot, it is unclear what the details are. Will the veteran character actor play a good guy or baddie?
He has already starred with Vikram in hit flicks like Majaa and Dhool, and so the chemistry obviously works.
Given the pace at which the movie is being filmed, it is reasonable to assume that our questions would be answered in the near future.
