Recently, the social drama Article 15 made a huge noise in Bollywood and became a commercial success despite its limited release. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role, this film dealt with the castes issues that are still prevalent in the rural parts of North India.
Article 15 was directed by Anubhav Sinha of Ra. One and Mulk fame. The film was well-received by both the critics and the audience. Now, plans are being made to remake this film in the South. Apparently, versatile star hero Dhanush will reprise Ayushmann’s role in this movie.
Casteism is also prevalent in many parts of South India and that is the reason why the makers felt that it is an important story to be told. This film will be made as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual. More details regarding the cast, crew and the launch date are expected to be revealed soon.
