In the era of period drama, coming fresh from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s helming, Bajirao Mastani’s cast has been finally locked. The news was flashed that Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra will don the lead roles.
After much ado about who to cast and from a series of B-Townies’ names being speculated, the three stars were finalized. While we were certain about Piggy Chops being a part of the film, about Ranveer and Deepika confirmations came in a little late.
Bajirao Mastani is a period romantic drama of Peshwar Baji Rao and his second wife Mastani. It was a dream project for Bhansali, announced way back in 2003. The film tossed from many hands in tinsel town, like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, and Rani Mukherji, but it finally landed in Ranveer, Deepika and Priyanka’s kitty.
