Ramalinga Raju back to Chanchalguda

Former founder and chairman of the Satyam Computers Ramalinga Raju was sent back to Chanchalguda jail until July next year along with five others accused in the multi-crore Satyam scam. Mr. Raju was arrested in 2009 after falsifying Satyam’s over a number of years. He was granted bail in August this year by the High Court of Andhra Pradesh after being in judicial custody for nearly 20 months. However his bail was cancelled after the CBI approached the Supreme Court and Ramalinga Raju and five others accused were directed to surrender. Following the apex court’s orders, all the accused surrendered themselves in the presence of the XXI additional chief metropolitan magistrate in Nampally. They were later handed over to the police after completing all the formalities and were escorted to the Chanchalguda Jail.
