There are so many actors who come as outsiders of film industry and make their way to top league. They reach to top heights with their hard work added by luck. No matter how hard you work, it won’t be fruitful until you make wise choices. Every bad choice makes your position weaker. Raj Tharun who came as an outsider has become a hero with his range of market and he scored some decent hits in the beginning of his career but has become routine with his choice of selecting routine subjects. He is now coming with Rajugadu under the direction of Sanjana Reddy and under the production of AK Entertainments of Anil Sunkara who has been producing his movies lately. Though makers has tried to promote it well, they failed and let’s see how the movie is made.

Rajugadu Review

Raju (Raj Tharun) is a Kleptomaniac by birth which makes him to steal without his intention. He lives with his parents and his father always makes fun of him and his habit but with the love she has on him, his mother always supports him thinking of his problem as a birth defect. He falls for Tanvi (Amyra Dastur) and both are happy in their love. Here comes a problem in the name of her family who hate the idea of theft and they hate thieves. As Raju is not an intentional thief and also Tanvi’s family hating him, how they both stay together is the story. How he gets rid of his Kleptomaniac is part of the story.

Cast and Performance

Raj Tharun is good as a Kleptomaniac he tried his level best to entertain audience with his comedy timing and his body language. Amyra Dastur is good as heroine Tanvi and she is limited as just a hot heroine in a popcorn entertainer. Rajendra Prasad is fine as always and Sithara has done well in the emotional sequences towards the end. Prudhvi, Subbaraj are good in their roles but poor writing is let down for their characters to shine. All other actors has done well in their roles.

Story of the film seems simple but can be a rib tickling comedy if written well but screenplay is written bad and dialogues are okay.

Technical Departments

Surprisingly, songs composed by Gopi Sunder has failed to entertain audience this time. He has done an okay job with this film in terms of background score and also in songs. Cinematography by B Rajasekhar is fine and editing is bad.

A good editing team to support the film become more crispy might have made this film better. Production values are good.

Verdict

Rajugadu is a story of a Kleptomaniac who falls in love with a girl who belong to a family who hate thieves. Debutante director Sanjana Reddy has done an okay job in directing this film. Screenplay is very very disappointing and the characters she created to entertain audience like Subbaraju’s and others fail to entertain, all thanks to the numb writing. This movie has some very huge references of Nani’s Bhale Bhale Magadivoy subtly, but this don’t entertain audience like that did. A very superb cast like Rao Ramesh, Nagineedu and some others are wasted in this uninspiring film. This is the phase of our Telugu film industry where a very new and new type of content and narrative styles are getting unleashed with every release and this film takes us back in time for its routine content. Raj Tharun should take care of the scripts he is selecting and it’s high time for him to make some wise decisions to make him stay in place.

To sum up, you can watch Rajugadu, if you have a lot of free time this weekend.
