The veteran director put up a sneak peak poster of the movie up on his Facebook page which shows Rahni and him along with Anushka Shetty, Sonakshi Sinha and maestro A R Rahman. This would be the seventh project with Rajni for Oscar winner Rahman.
The last two K S Ravikumar – Rajni movies were Muthu (1995) and Padayappa (1995), both of which went on to become super hits and even help spread Rajni’s popularity abroad to non Tamil speaking audiences.
For example, Muthu proved to be a cult hit in Japan and created quite a loyal fan base for the actor there.
Rajni hasn’t been in a live action role since the iconic Endhiran three years ago though the excited actor has been in the news a lot lately for Kochadaiiyaan and for his apolitical involvement in the Narendra Modi campaign.
A source close to the film unit has reportedly said that if all goes well, the shooting for Lingaa would start sometime in the first week of May itself.
Time for Kollywood and Indian fans in general, to get in gear again, as another Rajni movie means one thing – big bucks, right on the money, hardcore entertainment that’s going to bring in crowds to the theatres cheering in anticipation for punch lines and signature moves from the one and only Style Mannan!
