Kollywood Super Star Rajinikanth has urged Muslim communities to withdraw their protest against Kamal Hassan’s Viswaroopam movie.Tamilnadu State government banned "Vishwaroopam" for two weeks when around 25 Muslim organisations objected the film because it portrays the Muslim community in bad light.
Yesterday,Madras High Court restricted the film’s release till Jan 28. A judge will see the movie Jan 26 and decided on its fate.
Rajnikanth said that "Muslim brothers " I request my Muslim brothers to sit with Kamal Haasan, discuss and release the film without hampering the storyline. He is no ordinary artiste but an extraordinary one who can take Tamil cinema to all new levels,".He also said that "I and Kamal have been friends for over 40 years and he wouldn’t hurt the sentiments of anybody let alone Muslims".
Viswaroopam is also banned in Hyderabad till Jan 28th and the Hindi version movie will hit the big screens on February 1st.
