When asked why is it that he seems to work only with stars he has worked with before, and those always seem to be the biggest names in the industry the director/producer says, “So far all of my films have been star hero centric films. I hope to make movies with newcomers or relative newcomers soon though. And the reason why I work with actors I have worked with before is simply that when the movie does well, the actors themselves are keen work with me again. It’s not sentiment.”
Murgadoss’s directorial debut was the Ajith starrer Dheena which was a huge hit and also turned out to be an important milestone in the actor’s career. Murgadoss had also worked with Vijay in the hit flick Thuppakki before the current project, Kaththi, and he worked with Surya in two movies too.
Currently, Murgadoss is busy with the release of his new flick Holiday in Hindi, which is a remake of Thuppakki. The Hindi version stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha.
He has stated of yet another project in Tamil, which he will be producing instead of directing – the direction of the flick rests upon Vijay Milton – and the movie in question is of course the yet untitled Vikram – Samantha one.
Busy, busy and very fortunate (or very talented) man indeed, and in any case we now have the Thala Ajith – Murgadoss movie to look forward to in the near future. Cheers for that!
