Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, who is a UNAIDS goodwill ambassador, will participate in an international forum on eradication of AIDS.
The 36-year-old will speak about the urgency to halt and reverse the spread of HIV, malaria and other diseases by 2015, the 6th Millennium Development Goal.
The Government of the Russian Federation, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and partners will co-host the MDG-6 forum, a statement said.
The forum will bring together high-level representatives from government, civil society, the private sector and the scientific community.
On the eve of the international forum on MDG-6, the Government of the Russian Federation and UNAIDS will also co-host a charity football match to benefit women and children living with HIV in Russia.
Proceeds from the match will go to the Women’s Network EVA, a non-governmental organization providing support to women and children affected by HIV in St Petersburg.(PTI)
