A 56-year-old woman got arrested by the Delhi Police at the Indira Gandhi International Airport for allegedly causing a minor explosion and creating panic among the people.
As per the information that was given by Airport Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sanjay Bhatia, a woman named Malvika Tiwari has been waiting to board a flight to Dharamshala at Terminal 1 of the IGI Airport. The airline’s people called her back for checking. She was asked to take out her power bank from her purse but she threw a fit and threw the power bank device at the wall which led to a small blast and ruckus in the screening room of level 1. The people got panicked. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel rushed to the spot and handled the situation.
They arrested the woman under Penal Code’s Section 285 for negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter and Section 336 for endangering life or personal safety of others. She later realized her mistake and apologized to the staff for her misconduct. She was released on bail. As per the sources, she is suspected to be a television actress but there is no clarity about her background.
