The Arnala Coastal police registered a cheating case on seven builders for allegedly selling one flat to several buyers. One of the buyers who got cheated is well-known singer Anuradha Paudwal. Two of the accused are identified as Raju Sulere and Avinash Dhole.
The remaining five other partners are yet to be caught. Jayant Bajbale, deputy superintendent stated that Virar, the builders promised flats for cheap prices near Arnala Beach and attracted many investors including Paudwal. The investors had booked flats in Mandar Avenue, F1 group of buildings in Narangi, Virar. But the accused forged sales agreements and sold the same flat to many buyers. On this note, Anuradha Paudwal stated that as an investment, she had booked two flats in 2013 and the builders have cheated her which made her file a complaint with the Arnala police.
A case under Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code and also Section 3, 4 of the Maharashtra Protection of Interests of Depositors Act, 1999 is filed against the accused.
