Piaa Bajpai made her debut in the Johnny Antony investigative thriller Masters and her performance earned her rave reviews, and she has been hitting it off in Malayalam cinema since. She is currently filming for Hashim Marakkar’s Kelvi but the next big one in her kitty is the Jayasurya starrer to be directed by Priyadarshan, Aaamayum Muyalum.
The flick is touted as an all out comedy and it seems Priyadarshan is going back to his roots. The iconic director even resigned as the Chairman of the Chalachithra Academy to focus on his movies and so this one in particular is highly anticipated by the Malayali film fans.
His last film Geethanjali, which was a spin off to the classic block buster Manichithrathazhu, was a huge disappointment commercially and critically.
Piaa, who is only the latest in a string of young divas who are trying their luck in Mollywood, has also made her mark in Tamil with notable movies such as Goa, Ko and Aegan.
The actresses’s presence in the movie in Aamayum Muyalum is expected by many to be more than just eye candy, though to say she is a stunning starlet would be an understatement.
The film has a tremendous cast of veterans including KPAC Lalitha, Innocent, Nedumudi Venu, Siddique, Suraj Venjaaramoodu and Maniampilla Raju. It looks and feels like a cast conceived for their comedic potential.
Singer turned composer MG Sreekumar will be scoring the tunes for this one and it is being produced by Jaison Pulikkottil under the banner of Full House Entertainment.
