Actor/director Parthiban has come out in the open with some serious allegations leveled at hit maker Shankar – he says the veteran director has been ‘stealing’ opportunities from him left and right in terms of projects!
For example, the actor turned director says the super hit Tamil movie Nanban was supposed to have been his project and that Shankar had swiped it from under him. The actor also says he intended to cast actor Surya in the lead role of the flick, which was a remake of the mega hit Hindi film 3 Idiots.
The Tamil version, under the direction of Shankar, starred Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay in the lead. Shankar is yet to respond to these allegations.
While industry feuds are common and are for better or for worse a part of the commerce and the inevitable clash of individual egos behind the show, it is not often veterans accuse one another of unethical conduct – at least not so openly through the media.
Guess we’ll have to wait to see if Shankar, who is currently busy with his movie I and other projects will utilize the media too for his reply…
