Bollywood icon and Super Star Amitabh Bachchan’s appointment as brand ambassador for the ‘Incredible India’ campaign is reportedly on hold. No one would have ever expected that the government of India would take such a decision in the matter of Big B. But the consequences behind this entire issue looks like Amitabh will lose it for sure. As we all knew about several media reports that appeared on mainstream media channels and also newspapers regarding the veteran actor’s name connection with the ‘Panama Papers.’
Some of these reports also revealed about Amitabh Bachchan’s alleged links to two shipping firms registered in the tax haven had put his selection under a cloud. But when contacted the official sources from the government of India, they say that nothing was actually confirmed. The officials were reluctant to link Bachchan’s selection to the Panama Papers controversy. It has been learnt that the government is looking into the details of all Indian account holders which came to lime light. The brand ambassador appointment for the government’s prestigious Incredible India campaign is compulsory but now it has become subject to another controversy.
After Aamir Khan making comments on Intolerance, he was ceased from the role and initiated the process of appointment for a new ambassador. “At present, the ministry has initiated the process of appointing a PR agency that is empanelled by DAVP.,” a ministry official said talking to a leading news daily. With all this fuss happening around, the government is thinking about roping in Priyanka Chopra as the brand ambassador for the campaign. Priyanka Chopra also made an image for herself, and she hosted for Oscars this time. She even received Padma Sri from the government.
