Court, a film on the Social activist who has accused of provocating a sewage worker to suicide by singing folk music against his state. Now, this Marathi drama film will be the official to the Oscars this year, 2015 from India. The Academy Awards will take place sometime in February or March next year.
Apart from Court, the list of films that had been considered for the honour had names like Baahubali and Srimanthudu. Tamhane’s Court had won the National Award for the Best Feature Film this year. The film won rave reviews from critics and was released in India in April 2015.
Vira Sathidar, Vivek Gomber, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Pradeep Joshi, Usha Bane and Shirish Pawar have played important roles in “Court”.
The Secretary General of Film Federation of India said that “Court will be the movie from India to Oscars”. The film that made in Marathi has won the Best Feature Film award at the 62nd National Film Awards. The film has also won several other awards in a total of 18.
Let us hope that “Court” impresses the Oscar Jury and Wins and Oscar for India.
