Andhra Pradesh state government has been passed the Stay on online ticketing websites for 5 multiplexes – Imax, Inox, Cinemax, Big Cinemas and PVR.
If you visit the online booking movie tickets sites like BookMyShow.com website, the status bar on the top of the header, stating that online ticketing has been banned by Government of AP until the next further notice. While the other multiplexes like PVR Cinemas, Big Cinemas and Inox Movies followed the same. But kyazoonga is still issuing the tickets.
As per the sources the reason behind ban was, only 35% of the total tickets in a theater can be sold through online booking and the rest should be sold at Ticket counters in Theaters. But these multiplexes are found to be violating the rule.
The ban seems to be only for Cinema ticket booking and not for travel or any other tickets. So we have to wait for further notice on these websites from the AP Government.
