Andhra Pradesh Government has announced four prestigious awards for the year 2011 for their contribution to Indian cinema. Bollywood’s legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has been chosen for NTR National Film Award and this award carries a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh besides a memento and a citation.
Bollywood film director Shyam Benegal for the B N Reddy National Award that carries a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh, a citation and a memento.Veteran Actor Kaikala Satyanarayana has been chosen for Raghupathi Venkaiah Memorial Award and G Adi Sesha Giri Rao, brother of superstar Krishna and a producer, was awarded with B Nagi Reddy Chakrapani award for their contributions to the Telugu cinema.These awards also carry a cash prize of Rs 2 lakhs, a citation and a memento.
The awards will be presented on April 11 on the occasion of Ugadi Festival and also the Telugu New Year’s Day.
