The man of the hour is Ranbir Kapoor, who will be seen in Anurag Kashyap’s hindi neo-noir drama, Bombay Velvet. While in the teaser of Ranbir’s look, he was seen all dirty and rugged, in the complete look, we see him suited and armed.
Ranbir kills (literally!) the dapper look in the pin-striped suit. He sports a few scars, and has that extra edge to his character. He sports a Thompson submachine gun in each hand. His macho avatar is surely going to be appreciated. The poster says, “Hello! I am Johnny Balraj. Nice to meet you.” And hell yes! It is really nice to meet him.
The film is set against the backdrop of Bombay in early 50s. It is based on Gyan Prakash’s book Mumbai Fables. While Ranbir is seen as a street fighter Johnny, leading lady Anushka Sharma will be pulling off the role of a jazz singer, for whom Johnny falls head-over-heels. Also seen will be Karan Johar in a gray shade character and in a full-fledged role of Kaizad Khambatta.
After much delay, the film is finally releasing on May 15th!
