Senior Tamil filmmaker K Subhash breathed his last in Chennai on Wednesday. He was reportedly undergoing treatment in SRM hospital in Chennai for kidney ailments.
Subash started off his career as an assistant director for Mani Ratnam’s 1987 iconic film ‘Nayakudu’ starring Kamal Haasan. He turned a director with Prabhu starrer Kaliyugam in 1998. Later a 1990 Vijaykanth starrer brought him stardom. He directed a couple of Bollywood films also. His last directorial was Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Insaan’.
For the last few years, he has been writing scripts and dialogues. Some of the biggest Bollywood films like Chennai Express, Housefull 3, Entertainment, etc. were written by this senior Tamil filmmaker only.
Film fraternity has expressed condolences to Subaash’s family over his death.
