It has been confirmed and with that, most of the cast for Kamal Haasan’s Drishyam remake, titled Paapanasam, has now taken shape.
Niveda Thomas, while is now a known face in Malayalam cinema, is still making her mark in Kollywood. Most Tamil fans would remember her as playing the daughter of Mohanlal and the sister of Vijay in the block buster movie Jilla.
Now, with Paapanasam too in her kitty, she will definitely be a familiar face in Kollywood soon. She will be playing the role of Kamal’s daughter in the flick, a role essayed by the recently controversial actress Ansiba Hassan in the original.
The role is an important one and requires a lot of the actor, so this will be Niveda’s chance to shine for the Tamil fans in attendance.
In Mollywood, the very young and gorgeous starlet has been making progress slowly but steadily. After debuting as a lead actress opposite Vineeth Srinivasan in Chappa Kurishu, she went on to star in supporting roles in flicks like Romans and Thattathin Marayuthu among others.
It was only recently that she bagged the lead role opposite Fahadh Fazil in the movie Money Ratnam, which is in production. Interestingly she replaced Nazriya Nazim who was the first candidate for the role.
Paapanasam will be directed by Jeethu Joseph, who directed the original Drishyam in Malayalam. Kalabhavan Mani has replaced Kalabhavan Shajon as the villainous cop in the remake. Asha Sharath will reprise her role from the original and Gauthami, who will be making a comeback with this one, is playing the onscreen wife to her real life spouse Kamal Haasan.
So a very dynamic cast and both in Malayalam and Tamil, star roles and good days for Niveda Thomas…
