Tainted Swami Nithyananda approached the High Court and sought permission for preaching, something that his bail terms prevent him from doing.
He sought relaxation of the other condition too, which requires him to report at the jurisdictional police station every 15 days.
In the petition, Nithyananda has stated that while granting bail to him on June 11, the HC had imposed a few conditions. He contended the conditions had brought the activities of the ashram to a standstill. The petition stated that the devotees of the spiritual leader need his advice and thus he should be allowed to preach. Also, it stated that instead of making the swami report at the police station, police can be deputed in the ashram.
While hearing the petition, Justice Subhash B Adi observed that the bail conditions were valid only until police filed a chargesheet against Nithyananda. The HC has adjourned the hearing.(IANS)
