Cast and Performance

Sundeep and Tamannah in Next Enti
Sundeep and Tamannah in Next Enti

Sundeep Kishan has done a nice job as Sanju. He performed well in his role. Tamanna Bhatia as Tammy is good and she, dubbing for her role is another advantage. Poonam Kaur is good in her supporting role. Navdeep is nice. Sarath Kumar as a father is good. All other supporting actors have done good work for their given roles.

Writing Department

The story of Next Enti is good but the mediocre screenplay written for this story makes it a tedious watch. Dialogues are good.

Technical Departments

Songs composed by Leon James are good and they are catchy. Lyrics are written well supporting the tunes and going in sync. His background score is okay throughout the movie. Cinematography by Maneesh Chandra Bhatt is nice. Visuals of this movie look good. Editing could have been better. Production values are rich.

Verdict

Next Enti is a story of a relationship between a Westernised boy and Indianised girl set in a foreign location. The character of male lead represents the mindset of youth and girl represents the elder people. The entire first half runs in setting up the characters and plot and the screenplay that runs the proceedings is too preachy kind of thing. The second half takes to make the characters realize what they are actually missing in their life while both the leads are going their ways. The movie is heavy on dialogues than action. They seem to be interesting in the beginning and after certain point of time they become monotonous and boring. It has been a long time since we have seen a girl complaining about male and boy complaining about the female. They seem so judgemental and are boring. The music becomes heavy and emotional even when the proceedings are not that emotional. The spark of director Kunal Kohli who made Hum Tum and Fanaa is missing with this movie. This movie seems to be a by-product of novels he read. The movie is so light-hearted that we have nothing to feel or invest in the movie. To sum up, Next enti is a love story which lacks love but have a lot of complaints on both the genders.
