Peruchazhi is sure starting to look like the laugh riot it’s promised to be. The simple but creative teaser for the fans support this fact.
The plot revolves around an aspiring politician Jagannathan aka Peruchazhi (Mohanlal) who is sent to the US along with his two cronies, Rayappan and Vayalar Varki, to help a politician there with his election campaign. However, the communication barrier and dirty political games from back home and from there result in hilarious events.
Mukesh plays his friend but arch political rival, Minister Raghavan.
The whole story is a satire of sorts based on the both the Indian and American political scenes, and is touted as a fun filled rollercoaster of a flick with all the right ingredients, including a love story, conflict, revenge, friendship and such – all deeply flavoured with comedy, of course.
The film has been written and directed by Arun Vaidyanathan. It is being produced by Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas under the banner of Friday Film House.
The producers also appear in the cast of the movie, in a surprising move made in order to cut back the cost of production apparently.
Peruchazhi holds the record in Mollywood for the longest shoot abroad for any film so far, with its month long US filming schedule, where it gained yet another recognition – being the first Malayalam movie to be shot in the famous Universal Studios in Hollywood.
There is also a song in the movie based on Lalettan’s iconic line from the movie Narasimham, “Nee po mone dinesha”.
So the behind the scenes stuff of the movie itself has been colourful and newsworthy to say the least. That really raises the bar for the actual movie itself, don’t you think?
Guess we’ll find out come this Onam.
